Are you struggling to gain traction on Instagram? Does it feel like you’re spinning your wheels, posting content without seeing any results? You’re not alone. Instagram can be a challenging platform to crack, but with the right strategy, it’s possible to see significant growth in just a short amount of time.
In this case study, I’ll dive into how I was able to increase my Instagram following by 58% and engagement by 14% in just 60 days. I’ll examine the types of content I shared, what got the most engagement, and what other strategies I used to drive results.
When I began my Instagram journey in January 2021, I had 174 followers, of which 26 unfollowed, resulting in an overall gain of 148 followers. I knew I needed to step up my Instagram game to grow my following and engagement.
I had a theme for each month, and I dove DEEP into it! This helped me to focus my content and strategically meet my goals.
It varied, but some of the most successful posts were those that provided value to my audience. For example, a post titled “Swipe My Welcome Email Sequence Framework” received the most saves out of all my posts. Another successful post was “How I Went from Charging $50 for a Bio to $1,500 for a Day,” which was transformational for my audience.
Apart from these posts, I also shared posts that busted myths, provided a how-to guide, and shared my unique point of view. I found that it’s important to have a goal in mind when posting and to include a clear call to action.
I did this by focusing on lead generation and strategic stories.
I also had sales conversations with potential clients. These conversations were often prompted from my Stories but occasionally from welcome messages I sent. While I wasn’t consistent with sending welcome messages, I noticed that they helped me develop relationships with potential clients. One person who I connected with through a welcome message later booked with me.
Another effective strategy I used was tagging my clients in my stories so that they could reshare them with their audience. This gave me exposure to their audience, which had an untapped pool of more potential clients.

Always have a clear call-to-action (CTA)!
Work backward from your goal to determine what type of content to post and what your CTA should be.
If you want to level up your Instagram content strategy, I’m offering an over-the-shoulder video breakdown of the nine posts that drove the most interaction during my 60-day Instagram campaign. The video will cover the hooks, captions, and calls-to-action I used in these posts to increase engagement and followers.
